I booked an appointment with Emma when I realized that for all my efforts in the gym, my nutrition wasn’t allowing me to reach the goals I had set. I was constantly tired and I thought that my progress in the gym wasn’t being reflected by my body shape or my energy levels. I signed up for an 8 week course in November 2011 with the goal of reducing my body fat, maintaining my strength and muscle weight while also increasing my general energy levels.
I always thought that my diet was generally quite good and I always cut out the obvious ‘bad’ foods (chocolate, crisps, sweets) however Emma allowed me to look at food in a completely different way so I could see how different foods affect different people’s bodies and how certain foods reacted to my body. Emma provided me with a personal diet plan, with recipes and advice on what foods I should cut out and include and this was a massive help to me. Rather than looking at food based on how calorific it was Emma allowed me to look at how nutritious certain foods are, and her expert knowledge in this field was invaluable here.
At the end of the 8 week course, and following Emma’s guidance, I had successfully reduced my body fat down to a level I was happy with and I had maintained my muscle weight and my strength in the gym. However most importantly I had learned so much about food and nutrition that I now feel a lot better equipped to make the most of my gym sessions in the future. Three months down the line (March 2012) I am still following the core principles I had learned and I feel my body has progressed even further since. I also feel healthier and on the occasions I stray back to my old diet I notice the effect on my energy levels and my body.
I would recommend Emma’s courses to anyone, no matter how fit or unfit you perceive yourself to be. The nature of her course is such that it will be personal to you and adapted to your goals, so no matter what your aim is Emma can certainly help you achieve. Chris Ryan, 2012
